The new research is devoted to
recent developments on the Ukrainian and world markets of deeply processed
soybean products: soybean flour and proteins. The key focus of the research is
trading soybean products in Ukraine, imports and market development trends.
Research was made by commodity broken down to market segments, key market

Experts estimate that the market
volume of soybean products in Ukraine to be $150 mill showing an annual growth
of 10%. Moreover, the value of imported soybean flour and proteins during 2004
exceeded $99 mill. The market consists of around 100 main companies however no
more than 10 companies are trading large volumes. Interestingly, domestic
production of proteins in Ukraine is at its early stage of development therefore
the largest market operators are importers and protein processors (packaging
industry). The forecasts show a further positive shift in market development
however issues related to Ukrainian GMO products control in Ukraine still remain
unresolved.
