According to ProAgro, Ukrainian companies processed 149.8 KMT of rapeseeds during July-November of MY 2016/17, where almost 49% (71.9 KMT) from the above-mentioned amount accounted for August. At the same time, processing volumes decreased by 42% compared to the same period of the last season.
“Oliyar” company became the largest processing plant of rapeseeds for the past months of MY 2016/17 and accounted for more than 41% of all oil processing for the specified period in Ukraine. Among other large refinery companies were ViOil, Kernel, West Agroinvest LLC and others.

After the smallest harvest in the last five seasons in MY 2015/16 Ukrainian farmers significantly increased the area for rapeseeds yield in 2017. In total 899.2 thsd ha were sowed. 93% of all sowings ascended, of which 83% were characterized as being in good condition. At the current date it is known that rape should get over the period of strong January frosts winter without losses due to sufficient snow cover. If there will be no extreme events in the next two months, the prospect of breaking the reduction trend of rapeseeds yield in Ukraine looks quite realistic in the current season.
