According to the results of 2016, Ukraine exported agricultural and food products worth $ 15.5 bln., which amounted to 42.5% of the total exports.
It is reported by the press service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
“Ukrainian agrarian sector, including the processing industry, showed a remarkable export result in 2016. The figures speak for themselves – the foreign trade turnover of agro-industrial complex products for 2016 reached $ 19.6 billion in value, which made up of 26.1% of the total foreign trade turnover , “- said Deputy Minister of Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva.
As was said, in comparison to 2015 exports of Ukrainian agricultural products increased by 4.5%.
“The main export products in 2016 traditionally were: grain, oils and oilseeds. TOP-10 export commodities also included: soy, sugar and meat. Our mission – to continue our work on geographical and product diversification of our agricultural exports and attract small and medium-sized players in the export business “, – added Trofimtseva.
Regional structure of export of agricultural products in 2016 is as follows:
- Asia – 45.9% ($ 7,099.2 mln);
- European countries – 27.5% ($ 4,242.4 mln);
- African countries – 15.7% ($ 2,424.2 mln);
- CIS countries – 7.7% ($ 1,185.1 mln);
- US – 0.9% ($44.9 mln);
- other countries – 2.9% ($440.7 mln).
