As of April 7, 2017 Ukrainian farmers sowed 2 million ha of early grain and leguminous crops, which is 83% of the plan.
This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
In particular, as of the reporting date, farmers sowed 134 thousand ha with spring wheat, which is 70% of the forecast; spring barley was sowed on 1.4 million ha (79% of the forecast); oats – 163 thousand ha (78%); peas – 339 thousand ha (129%).
In addition, sugar beet was sown on an area of 158 thousand ha or 54% of the forecast and sunflower – on 348 thousand ha, or 6% to the forecast.
Also, sowing of soy have already begun in seven regions of Ukraine, which as of April 7, sowed the first 4 thousand ha of 1.9 million ha.
It is noted that in the near future farmers will complete fertilizing of winter crops, carried out on an area of 7.06 million ha or 99% of the forecast. Winter rape was fertilized on an area of 859 thousand ha or 98% of the forecast.
